World Ballet Competition 2009- June 22- 27 Orlando Florida
Hundreds of dancers from all over the world applied to compete in the 2009 WBC's categories from Preparatory to Professional (solo), Pas de Deux to Ensemble and Choreography. Competitors will compete for a total of up to $100,000 cash prizes -- and scholarships -- including the $10,000 Grand Prix Award which is open to most categories. Professional dancers can compete for the $5,000 gold, $3,000 silver, or $2,000 bronze medal awards. More than 100 dancers from all around world will be in Orlando, "The City Beautiful," for this year's competition. Nations represented include Armenia, Bolivia, Brazil, Canada, Cuba, Japan, New Zealand, Panama, Romania, Russia, Singapore, UK, US and Venezuela.
